David J. Pigott is a Colorado and New York attorney whose work spans litigation, firm leadership, and international legal engagement. As co-founder of Hampton & Pigott LLP and managing partner of Pigott Law Group, he has guided both firms through strategic growth while maintaining a focus on professional integrity, disciplined advocacy, and community impact.
Mr. Pigott’s legal career includes positions with the Adams County District Attorney, the Manhattan District Attorney, and the Colorado Attorney General. In private practice, he has developed a diverse portfolio encompassing civil litigation, family law, and estate planning. His approach reflects the synthesis of courtroom precision, business pragmatism, and a strong ethical foundation.
He earned his J.D. and MBA from the University of Colorado and holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Mr. Pigott’s military background continues to shape his leadership. A decorated officer, he served two combat tours in Iraq, leading hundreds of patrols and earning two Bronze Stars, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. In 2017, he deployed again as an Operational Law Attorney supporting artillery operations and training allied forces on the Law of Armed Conflict. He remains active in the Colorado National Guard’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, contributing to national security, homeland defense, and disaster-relief operations. His international work includes lecturing at the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies and providing legal training to foreign militaries. From 2018–2022, he represented victims of sexual assault in the military, ensuring they had confidential legal representation through the justice process.
Mr. Pigott is also the founder of The Brick Foundation, a nonprofit that has evolved from supporting a Peace Corps project in Malawi to advancing global humanitarian and anti-trafficking initiatives. He served on the Board of Directors for the Boulder Hockey Club (2018–2025) and previously supported the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce and Broomfield FISH.
